SEAM Conference

The 11th International SEAM Conference
Putting Theory into Practice
May 25-26, 2023

Socio-economic theory, the foundation of the Socio-Economic Approach to Management is 50 years old. The theory originated in Lyon, France, as an outcome of a doctoral dissertations of Henri Savall in 1973. Later he and his colleagues kept testing the socio-economic theory in different organizations, industries, and countries. In a nutshell, the socio-economic theory posits that organizations are most effective when equal attention is paid to factors that lead to productivity (the economic) and to development of the people in the organization (the socio). Failure to pay attention to both leads to hidden costs that are not measured by standard accounting,

The validity of any theory is tested over time. As a theory is put into practice, new learnings happen. This year’s conference aims at an exploration of the relationship of theory and practice, and new learnings that have emerged from applying theory to real problems. Scholars, change practitioners, and leaders from Europe, Asia, and the USA will come together to explore the implications of interchange between theory and practice.

In addition to the presentations from thought leaders across the globe, there will be engaging panel discussions with subject matter experts and opportunities for the audience to participate.

The conference will be held online via Zoom.
