The 13th International SEAM Conference
Getting Out of the Comfort Zone
Thursday, May 15, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, CST
Friday, May 16, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, CST
Friday, May 16, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, CST
Why get out of one's comfort zone? Because, when organizations get too comfortable, there is a high probability that they will lose their creative edge. The rut is safe; staying there undermines the push for growth and creativity. In this conference, the focus will be on what happens when organizations stay in their comfort zone, what moves them out of the rut, and the results when they decide to move forward.
Virtual conference via Zoom | Registration cost $70 Sponsored by the SEAM Institute and College of St. Scholastica, Minnesota, in collaboration with ISEOR |
This year, the conference recognizes a very special moment. Our partner - ISEOR, the Institut de Socio-Économie des Entreprises et des Organisations, Lyon, France - celebrates its 50th anniversary. Part of the conference will be dedicated to the historical landmarks and influence of ISEOR in the field of socio-economic management. Scholars and practitioners across the globe come together to discuss how SEAM helps organizations get out of the comfort zone. |

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2024 SEAM Conference: The Renaissance of Humanism in Organizations!
After the Middle Ages, Europe experienced the Renaissance. The Renaissance was not only a period of artistic creation, but a period of intellectual and cultural renewal, new inventions and new learnings about the world. Artists were inspired by classical Greek art and philosophy and attempted to make their paintings and sculptures realistic and complex. Advancing methods and techniques of portraying landscapes and the human body, artists surpassed the ancient peoples in technical skill and creativity. One of the principles of the Renaissance was the idea of humanism. Humanism was a philosophy that put humans, rather than religion, at the center of artistic creation, education, and scholarship. In 2024, SEAM Institute explored how to revive the focus on humanism in their respective fields of practice and expertise. One of the principles of the Renaissance was the idea of humanism. Humanism was a philosophy that put humans, rather than religion, at the center of artistic creation, education, and scholarship. |
