Artist Highlight
The artist whose artwork appears in this issue is Sheila Meixner. Sheila Meixner is an expressive artist who celebrates the colors of the Universe’s abstract energy and Earth’s natural landscapes. In her play between the intangible and the literal, Sheila instinctively reveals colorful compositions that both sing and soothe. Sheila’s personal painting process begins with a search for external calm and inward peace, and inexplicably along the way, color rises and transforms into harmonious and enthusiastic joy. She says that her goal as an artist is “to evoke conscious pause along with intrigued wonder that subtly quiets or brighten parts of our experience.” While working in a demanding business profession, Sheila embraced evening and weekend artistic training from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and the area’s revered art centers. Sheila’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Spanish, and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota. Sheila currently bases her artistic and creative life in Minneapolis, where she is also an internal strategy and business excellence consultant and life adventurer. More of her work in pastel landscapes and acrylic abstracts can be found at www.sheilameixner.com. |
